If you have
your sights set on earning more and advancing to higher levels of leadership, or if you are just starting out and would like to build your business to leadership level, there is no faster path to cash (and fulfillment) than to fill your Date Book/Calendar with
group presentations. Whether you call them parties, shows,
classes, selling appointments or presentations… they all translate into sales, recruit leads and the perpetuation of
your success. That’s why keeping your schedule full, needs to be a top priority
for growing your business, growing your income and expanding your sphere of influence as well as your team in the coming months.
The list below
offers a myriad of creative, out‐of‐the‐box ideas for expanding your sphere of influence and filling your schedule.
The purpose of this list is to inspire you to try something you wouldn’t
otherwise try… to explore
new strategies that lead to new possibilities and results.
As you review
the list I encourage you to drop the judgment, be open‐minded and be willing
to see new
possibilities for expanding your Mary Kay Business and filling your Date Book/Calendar in the
coming months. And Don't Forget to Enjoy the Process and Exude Enthusiasm!
1. Consistently put an informative post on your Facebook page
2. Host an office party or brunch product demonstration.
3. Utilize your company provided newsletters and social media tools
in your communications.
4. Sponsor a fundraiser for your favorite charity and/ or school.
5. Conduct an educational tele‐training on your product and record
it for future sharing.
6. Send a catalog or link to your online catalog via email to a
co‐worker that has moved.
7. Text your hosts or potential hosts with the monthly specials to
keep them in the know
8. Make “Connect (or Re-Connect) Calls” to past customers and hostesses.
9. Find Blogs that are discussing your topic of expertise on www.technorati.com and join the
conversation.
10. Post pictures and suggestions for using your products on Pinterest, Instagram or YouTube.
11. Post at least one helpful product tip in your social media sites
each weekday.
12. Ask a neighbor to gather friends for an in‐home presentation.
13. Keep your social media listings updated with current product or
biz opportunity specials.
14. Post a catalog or host an “appreciation break” in the teacher's
lounge at your child's school.
15. Gather testimonials from happy hostesses and place them on a
flyer.
16. Advertise in your alumni newsletter and/or local newspaper.
17. Place a catalog in the employee lunchroom or doctor’s waiting
rooms. This also works in hospital waiting rooms as well.
18. Have a booth at a school festival.
19. Give a catalog to the receptionist at your doctor or dentist
office.
20. Place a product catalog and 10% off coupon at your neighbor's
door.
21. Donate your product for a charity auction.
22. Review orders from past shows. Contact those who buy frequently
to be a hostess.
23. Call potential hostesses who postponed or never booked.
24. Host an educational event with your product and advertise at your
gym or community center.
25. Host a show before or after a PTA meeting.
26. Mail out catalogs and a wish list to neighbors and offer to get
together.
27. Get a list from Welcome Wagon or your favorite Realtor. New people may be looking for a
consultant or a new job in your area.
28. Set up a display at an exposure event.
29. Have your husband or significant other promote the products at
work.
30. Ask family members to carry your business cards and offer ideas
on how to share what you do.
31. Hold a Holiday Shopping Show for men (or for Mother's Day or
Valentine's Day, etc.).
32. Hold an “Evening of Exploration” where guests and team members
share their goals and
wishes for the next few months
33. Mention hostess benefits at least 3 times per show.
34. Promote your "average" hostess earnings in your email
signature line.
35. Help every hostess set a show goal and share it at the beginning
of your presentation.
36. Carry a small card that summarizes upcoming specials that you can
share when out and about.
37. Start an E‐mail address book of customers who want to hear about
new catalog introductions ~ don't forget
to mention the hostess specials.
38. Run a $1000 Hostess Campaign for the year then host a special
Thanksgiving Tea in November.
39. Start a “VIP Hostess Club” for those who hold 3 shows a year,
then extend special VIP offers.
40. Treat hostesses to a special "Hostess Appreciation Tea"
with bonus shopping. Offer a 10% off coupon when
they book their next party.
41. Call your realtor with suggestions for "new home welcome
packages."
42. Offer to do a class for your local gym or community center.
43. Follow through on every booking lead within 24 to 48 hours.
44. Practice using open‐ended questions to discover their needs and
challenges.
45. Call at least two potential hostesses every night.
46. Set weekly booking goals and post them where you can see them.
47. Invite friends to be a “talent scout” and offer an incentive for
each booking that results.
48. Follow up phone calls to particularly interested guests. They may
decide later to have a show.

52. Create Tear Tab Flyers and leave them at local community centers.
53. Use your car as a bulletin board when you park. Use window clings or brochure holders on your car windows.
54. Host a child's event (birthday party) and leave out product for the parents to sample
55. When shopping, leave a catalog (or 2) in the ladies dressing rooms> This also works when you go to have your mammogram as well.
